Sarah and Baby Girl

Hey Friends! You may have seen my post from a couple weeks back. I've had it on my heart to help either a person or family in need this Christmas. I had not heard of anyone needing support, and then yesterday, I just happened to have met a girl named Sarah.

I was meeting a new hire for coffee yesterday morning and the only available seats were at a community table. After my meeting, I decided to stick around for a couple more hours before heading back to my home office. I couldn't help but notice the girl next to me was deep in a bible study, and had a stack of other devotionals by her side. She also had the cutest baby bump. I asked her what she was studying (I'm always so curious to hear about a potential new study!), and she told me it was about Advent, and it was a study her old church in Austin was doing so she was following along and loving it so very much. Somehow, by God's divine intervention, Sarah and I both opened up to each other about some heavy life stuff/many commonalities we have both endured and we connected on a very deep level. Through Sarah's watery eyes and one of the best hugs ever, she agreed to let me try and help her.

Sarah is 41 and is due on January 8th (having a baby girl). About 6 months ago, Sarah walked away from an abusive relationship with her alcoholic boyfriend (it was during her 1st trimester). Sarah is currently displaced, although is staying with some family right now — not ideal at all. Due to a high risk pregnancy, lots of sickness, and trauma from the relationship with her ex, she has burned through the PTO she had and her job does not provide maternity leave (will have no income for 2-3 months). Sarah is also in the process of seeking full-custody to protect her baby from the addict father.

Sarah felt comfortable sharing this with me, but don't think I didn't pry a bit. I did ask her to share more of the story with me so I could help all of us to understand the need. I came up with $7,500. I did the math; this gives her the funds for a deposit on a home (she does have a place picked out) + 3 months rent.

I truly feel called to help Sarah through this, however I cannot manage this alone. If you can, will you please help me? Together, we have the power to be a strong force of showing Sarah God’s Grace, His sweetness and goodness (all the time), that she is NOT judged, IS forgiven (I told her this baby saved her life!), and WE can show her God’s LOVE running through us, by giving financially (and prayerfully). As you know, I have been praying for God to show me what to do for someone this Christmas, and I know whole-heartedly God answered my prayer in meeting Sarah yesterday.

The sooner the funds are there, the sooner Sarah can be settled in her own home and preparing for her little girl's arrival. Thank you in advance for your selfless, generous, love-filled hearts. ❤️❤️
