Sara Cordas Urgent Medical Help
Thank you for taking the time to visit my cousin Sara's page.
Sara is 17 years old and lives in Croatia. I have known her all her life, and I remember her as a cheerful and a happy child. She has always loved animals - especially her pet dog called Mila.
As Sara was growing up things started to change for her. Her walking and hand coordination detriorated and, after many tests at the hospital, she was diagnosed with an illness called PKAN, or Hallervorden–Spatz syndrome.
PKAN is a very rare disorder and unfortunately there is no cure. It is a degenerative disease of the brain that one by one switches off functionality of the body.
Sara has undergone many different operations over the years and currently requires Botox every three months in order to be able to just sit still. The video below is after her first Botox treatment.
Sara is also on very heavy medication and must travel over 500 miles to Munich in Germany for treatment 3-5 times a year. As there is no cure for this illness the Croatian government refuses to help with the travel, medication and other expenses that Sara and her family incur.
Unsurprisingly it has become extremely difficult for the family over the past year and they now have little option but to seek financial help from kind donors so they can continue to give Sara the help and treatment she deserves.
Again, thank you for reading this - and if you can spare something, please donate to the fund I have set up to help Sara and her family.
