<div>Mijn naam is Sara Pfann, ik ben 15 jaar oud en woon in Rosmalen. Ik zit nu in 3 VWO van het ds. Pierson College in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Ik ben een meisje zoals je buurmeisje, met als verschil dat ik een grote droom heb: ik hoop in oktober 2025 aan boord van “De Thalassa” te stappen met School at Sea, om tot april 2026 naar het Caribisch gebied te zeilen en weer terug. Zes maanden op een traditioneel tall-ship rondzeilen samen met 35 andere leeftijdsgenoten……de wereld als mijn klaslokaal…..Hoe vet is dat?

<div>De reis voert ons o.a langs Tenerife, waar we El Teide gaan beklimmen. In Dominica wandelen we door de jungle naar de boiling lakes, om vervolgens in Panama en Cuba op eigen reis te gaan. Aan boord hebben we zelfstudie waardoor we niks van onze school missen. Ook krijgen we scheepsovernames. Hier solliciteer je voor een functie op het schip, in de hoop dat je die functie ook mag uitvoeren tijdens de scheepsovernames.

<div>Vanuit School at Sea zit er nog veel meer achter dan alleen dit. Het doel van School At Sea is om je enorm te laten groeien als persoon, om ons in sneltrein-vaart, te laten ontdekken wie we zijn, waar we staan, wat we kunnen, wat we willen. We leren zelfstandig en verantwoordelijk te zijn, beslissingen te maken, vragen te stellen, fouten te maken, uit onze comfort-zone te stappen en we schijnen niet anders te kunnen dan automatisch supergoed samenwerken als we weer de boot afstappen. Daarnaast doen we heel veel zeil ervaring op.

<div>Om in oktober 2025 aan boord te kunnen stappen, moet ik zelf het bedrag dat hiervoor nodig is bij elkaar zien te krijgen. Dit is een verplicht en belangrijk deel van mijn traject. Mijn groei-traject start niet op het moment dat ik aan boord ga, maar nu: met het bij elkaar zien te krijgen van het geld dat hiervoor nodig is.

<div>Door te werken, sparen, heitjes voor karweitjes uit te voeren, sponsoren te vinden, ludieke acties te verzinnen en op allerlei andere manieren creatief geld te verzamelen, hoop ik voldoende geld te verzamelen om een ticket te verdienen voor een plaatsje aan boord.

<div>Als ik mee ga met School at sea dan is dat voor mij een droom die uit komt. Die droom kan ik alleen bereiken met uw hulp.
