Support Sara's rehab from attempted murder attack
On the 5th of September, I was walking back from getting my takeaway order from a Vietnamese place near McDonald's at Kangaroo Point.
I was walking on the sidewalk right around the corner of the street where my house is when a man who I have never met or seen before started stabbing me when he got closer.
After being stabbed multiple times, I ended up with severe injury on my right arm as the blade went through my wrist. I was also stabbed twice on my left side of my chest and once on my left forearm.
Luckily, when I stopped the traffic to get help, there were a couple of off-duty paramedics who were able to give me immediate help and I was rushed to the Emergency Department at the PA hospital. The following Sunday the 6th, I went under 8 hours of surgery. During the surgery, the doctors had to stitch back my wrist joint, the tendons, one of the arteries, my nerves, and muscles.
I was discharged the following Wednesday, and now working on rehabilitation to regain the mobility of my right hand again. At the moment my right forearm is in a splint and has no sense of feeling on my fingers. I have to learn how to do everything in life with just my left hand, which is also my non-dominant hand.
I am a full-time international student, studying at QUT that had also lost my part-time job due to the initial hit of COVID-A9 in Australia. As a result of this unfortunate circumstance, I had to sacrifice my savings to pay off the last remaining tuition fee I have left for the last semester of my degree.
While I am mentally okay at the moment, the financial burden of not being able to work has hit me harder.
With the help of the wonderful journalist and friends, I decided to set up this Go Fund Me page to ask for any help I can receive. All the money that has been donated will be used to support my general cost of living.
I highly appreciate anyone taking their time to read my story, and truly grateful for any donations and possibly help share this page for me.
Thank you,
Sara O
btw the cover photo was taken by Courier-Mail when they interviewed me. Personally, it was extremely weird and uncomfortable to get my photo taken this way but I understand why they needed a portrait photo.

And if anyone was curious here is the medical summary of what injuries I received:
