Alright fam. Never done this before. Here goes.
After months of trying holistic remedies and rest, X-rays confirmed today that Santo must undergo cruciate ligament surgery if he hopes to recover from a substantial tear to his ACL. Surgery cost is staring us down at a whopping 4k - and as these things generally happen, it couldn't be happening at worse time while we are in the middle of changing residences. Furthermore, I am being told that time is the essence, as waiting longer only increases the likelihood of irreversible arthritis, greatly reducing his quality of life down the road. Reaching out to my community for financial support - which is requiring a lot of inner management on my part, as asking for financial help has always been a soft spot in my psyche. Pushing those reservations aside, as I recognize that sometimes knowing when to ask for assistance is in fact a strength on its own. Santo is a angelic being residing within a canine form - he was sent to this planet to do saintly work of service, and truly he has. I have no doubt that he will receive similar support in return, now that he is in dire need of care. We are so appreciative of any donations to support his surgery, no matter how small. Every little bit counts. It's only uphill from here :)
