Arohas Spirit of Christmas Stocking

   25th December 2016. Once upon a December -on Christmas day to be precise- three little sisters woke in three different places, having slept away from each other on Christmas Eve and would do so again on Christmas night. It had been a rocky few months for them, as big sister Aroha was fighting cancer. But for afew magical hours special people visited with gifts, that gave them hope, laughter and cheer.  They shared in the joy of their baby sister'sr first Christmas, the girls opened their christmas stockings and for afew precious hours together they shared what they found inside. From that moment, Aroha  embarked on a project to help imspire her through the harder days of treatment .Her 'Spirit of Christmas stockings' appeal began - Insipired to make sure that anyone who spends christmas in hospital, has a reason to smile and moments to treasure forever. Aroha is currently sewing the stockings(with a watchful eye or two ). Aroha is currently sewing the stockings (with the help of a watchful eye or two). But Aroha and her family are a little busy trying to keep her well and out of hospital as much as possible – so they need a little help to make her dream of delivering stockings to her fellow 3B warriors and their supersibilings a reality. If they can raise enough funds they also hope to make sure mums and dads get a stocking too (with coffee and treats inside instead of toys because thats what big people like!) The goal is to have 50 stockings, to cater for the potential familes on the ward for christmas day.  Can you join Aroha’s army of little helpers by donating? You can either contribute what you can afford towards an individual items – or for $35 you can cover the cost of filling a full stocking. Because our Warriors are often immune compromised we have to make sure things are brand new, in packaging and safe. The ward has children from 0 to 17 boys and girls. We hope to purchase pencils,lego, itunes cards,playdoh, mini board games, toy cars, textas, dolls, stickers, bubbles, baby toys, colouring in books.  You can also drop/post donations to the Kids Cancer Support Group in Leederville 5 Kimberley Street, West Leederville 6007.
