Santa’s Stars-Students Giving Back

My name is Ethan Stanley and I’m a Junior at Bedford North Lawrence High School.
Do you know what it’s like to not get what you want for Christmas? Do you know what it’s like to get nothing for Christmas? Unfortunately there are many young kids in our community who face the reality of no Christmas at all.
While in English class a few weeks ago, we were reading narratives about people who struggle to get by every single day. This made think about how fortunate I am and lucky enough to have everything I need.
I went home and told my parents to cut my Christmas down to one gift and giving the rest to those that really need it. After talking with my parents about it, I thought I could help a lot more kids if I had classmates that wanted to participate as well.
I brought the idea to my teacher, Mr. Hawkins, and school counselor, Mrs. Jahn, and they were excited to support. I came up with Santa’s Stars in the hopes that our student body could come together and create a tradition of giving during the holiday season each year.
I started this GoFundMe page to try and expand this idea and hopefully get help from the community as well.
So what do we need?
We need your money - $1’s, $5’s, $10’s, $20’s, or make a commitment to lessen your own Christmas so another kid can have one. Look at your Christmas list and see what you can live without and donate what you would have spent to those in our community who need it most.
Donations can be be made thru Friday, December 8th. I have spoken with Bedford Federal to help ensure all funds are managed correctly.
100% of the money will be used to give local kids the Christmas they deserve. Remember the more money we collect, the more kids we can help.
