SANTA'S BEARD SHAVE

I started growing my beard at the beginning of April 2014 initially as a laugh.  As it grew, I could see that the lack of colour was the effect that my hairdresser couldn't give me in the 1990's when I acted as Father Christmas making me shave my beard off, and wear a hot, synthetic beard.  By Christmas, with minimal grooming, I was able to put on a red suit, and became an instant Santa, appearing at school presentation nights, charity events, some businesses, and visited families on Christmas morning.   Over the years I have lost my mother, my great nephew, and some good friends with cancer, and have many friends who have survived, or are currently living with cancer.  For people who have to travel to Adelaide for treatment, they are able to find affordable accommodation and various supports, provided by the Cancer Council of South Australia, at Flinders Lodge and Greenhill Lodge, both for themselves and their family.   All speak highly of the accommodation, and the support they have received during their stay.  Flinders Lodge is currently needing to upgrade the beds that they provide. If I can raise $1700, this will provide a queen, and a single bed for two rooms at the lodge.  Joanne from Joanne's Barbershop in Berri will shave Santa's beard off at Bella Lavender Estates, Dalziel Road, Winkie, at 2.00pm on Sunday the 21st of January 2018 to raise funds.  The beard will come off.  If we can support the Flinders Lodge to the tune of $1700, the head will be shaved too.
