Carolyn was forced to evacuate her home in Santa Rosa, California at 3a.m. on Monday morning when she heard banging on her door. She ran outside to be confronted by an orange wall of smoke and softball size embers falling around her. She grabbed nothing but her shoes and a pair of jeans as she fled.
Her home and all her belongings turned to ash shortly after. She is currently staying in an emergency shelter in Petaluma. She has lost everything except the clothes on her back and her car.
The hardest items to replace are the priceless heirlooms and pictures of family members that we will never recover. Please consider giving what you can. Any help is greatly appreciated as we begin to pick up the pieces and she begins to rebuild.
My name is Samantha and Carolyn is my aunt. She is an amazing, compassionate, hard working person. The damage from this fire is devestating and we are so grateful for any help at this time. I will be posting updates as I receive them.
