Disaster Relief Barrio San Lorenzo

On September 20, 2017 Hurricane María crossed the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico as a category 4 hurricane. The damage caused on the Island´s infrastructure was serious. The entire Island suffered badly, yet the community of Barrio San Lorenzo in the Municipality of Morovis was especially affected. According to public records, this community consist of approximately 1,000 residents - from newborns to elderly citizens.

The hurricane´s floods destroyed the bridge that connected this community to the Morovis town center. Consequently, the residents of Barrio San Lorenzo´s access to basic necessities has been seriously compromised.

The disaster relief contributions received through this GoFundMe account shall be used exclusively for the benefit of the Barrio San Lorenzo community. The funds shall be used in the acquisition of essential items that its residents are finding hard to obtain since the bridge´s collapse. Some of the items we wish to purchase and  deliver are: Water, milk, over the counter medications, insect repellent, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, candles, matches, batteries (AAA, AA, C, D), lanterns, disposable food plates and cups.

Any financial contribution, of any amount, will be appreciated. We plan to visit the community in the morning of Saturday November 4th. Hence, we would like to make all purchases before said date.
