Sandy smashes cancer!

On January 2, 2018 Sandy (aka Aunt Peanut) was sent for a biopsy due to recent medical issues that were signs of cervical cancer. A few days later she recieved the news that she did in fact have cancer. After meeting with an Oncologist it was discovered that the mass was too large to be removed and she will have to undergo radiation and chemo therapy to treat the cancer.
In situations like this there are many unknowns and we have to take things day by day. Unfortunately this doesn't work when it comes to expenses. In order to get this treatment started the insurance deductible of $2,500 has to be paid to start tests that are required to start radiation treatment. On top of this the a copay of $60 will be required on several visits. This doesn't include the expense of driving from Liberty Tx, to the medical center in downtown Houston 5 days a week for at least 5 weeks. Also, being an hourly employee there's no gurantee of the steady income she is accustomed to as we know this aggressive treatment takes a toll on the body and could cut into her work schedule.
Sandy is not one to ask for a handout as she works hard and has paid for necessary insurance, but sometimes when the unexpected happens we have to be strong enough to rely on God, friends and famliy. Since Sandy has so much family that is spread all around the country social media was the easiest way to get the word out and allow everyone to contribute. Everyone that knows her knows that she always keeps everyone aorund her smiling, so it's our turn to give back and put a smile on her face. Even if you don't have the means to send a monetary contribution please leave a word of encouragement and send up a prayer.
