Many who see this know me and my situation already, but for those that are just hearing about it for the first time, here is a quick summary.
We found out a year ago that I was in stage 5 renal failure which meant I would be required to receive a new kidney. It was unexpected news and hasn't been an easy road but we feel so blessed that a donor was approved and I have since received a transplant as of February 28th, 2017.
We're happy to say that the translplant was a success and I'm on the mend. We are so grateful for all of the Doctors and medical staff, prayers and support from so many family and friends and even those we don't know. We will forever be grateful to my donor (my brother in law) and his family and even another brother in law who had gone through the entire testing process.
We are so thankful to have made it here. With transplants come many expenses that will require a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications, which can be thousands of dollars a month even with insurance. We have had so many people ask how they can help at this time and with my recovery. If you feel as though this is a way you would like to help by donating, we'd be deeply appreciative.
Thank you,
Sandy and Family
