Sandra’s Brain Tumor Treatment

Sandra was diagnosed with Glioblastoma tumor. The right frontal lobe was operated on 11 Oct 2016 to remove the cancer. The Infection was detected on 23 December 2016 which led to another operation to remove the scull flap. As a result Sandra has to wear a helmet to protect her brain. On 27th February 2017 another operation was performed on Sandra to fit a VP shunt to drain fluid from  her brain. In September 2017 the tumor increased in size and is spreading across the left side of her brain. Sandra now needs to start chemoradiotherapy treatment which costs $23400. This treatment is performed at home and is not covered under the Medicare benefit scheme.
