Sandra's Lung Transplant Fundraiser

My sister Sandra was diagnosed with Lupus 6 years ago at the age of 47. Lupus - is an autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.
At the age of 48 she was diagnosed with Glaucoma - due to the (steroid) medication she needs to help with the inflammation and the pain her muscles.
At the age of 50, Sandra was diagnosed with Intestinal lung disease - a condition when the lung tissue scar and damage. Also, Rinald’s disease - a disorder that affects blood circulation, usually in the hands and feet and Club fingers - a deformity of the fingers and/or toe nails due to the lung disease.
At the Age of 51, Sandra was told she needed a lung transplant. Since that moment she attended regular appointments of painful testing to become a candidate for the transplant. She is now on the lung transplant list.
Sandra is a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother of 4 (a boy and three girls). She is a loved member of our family. She is constantly in pain from Lupus. The flare up of pain make it hard for her to move, sleep and care for her family. Yet she struggles through it to makes sure her children attend all their after-school sports and extracurricular activities. Sandra fights through her pain and continues to be an excellent mother.
