Sandi's Haiti Medical Mission Trip

This May I am returning to Haiti for a short-term mission trip.  We will be travelling to the Mission of Grace  which is a non-profit mission project in Carries, Haiti on May 9-16.  I’m excited to be able to work in the free medical clinic again and providing love and support to the children I miss in the orphanage.  Throughout the last trip we helped distribute food to needy families, went door to door praying for the community, attended church and women’s bible study, cared for the elderly in the grandparent’s home, and served meals to people at the soup kitchen.  I’m looking forward to doing this and MORE on our upcoming trip. 

During my trip to Haiti in May 2017, I noticed that there were many common medications that the clinic’s physician wanted to prescribe but the pharmacy at the clinic was barren.  When free medication is unavailable at the clinic, patients have to go to another clinic or hospital a day’s journey away where they would have to pay for the medication or forego medication altogether.  I have contacted the mission to find out what medications are needed and will be acquiring those medications from gracious physicians here in the states.

I need your support in two areas. First, I’m asking for you to pray for me – that I am in the right mindset to serve in any way that is requested of me, that I am sensitive to the people and the culture, and please pray for my health and safety. Secondly, I’m asking for your financial support.  I am responsible for raising $1,500 to pay for my expenses during the trip (flights, meals, lodging, and providing a financial gift to the Mission of Grace).  I would like to have all the funds raised by May 15, 2018.

Any extra provisions will be used to purchase food and supplies for the medical clinic, orphanage, grandparent’s home, and the Haitian community:  Pedialyte, formula, cloth diapers, hand sanitizer, lotion, shoes, belts, building supplies, medical and first aid supplies, etc.  For more information about our mission please visit www.MissionOfGraceHaiti.org.
