Sandi's Home Flooded

Donation protected

My best friend Sandi lives in a condo.  Two weeks after having surgery on her ankle, someone doing some construction 2 floors up jackahmmered through the emergency fire sprinklers.

These sprinklers ran for over an hour and flooded Sandi's condo resulting in a 100% loss of her home. Sandi and her cat have been displaced for over 3.5 months and will likely be displaced for another 3 months. Construction has not started, due to the development of toxic mold.

Insurance has been exhausted and Sandi is currently responsible for paying utilities, mortgage, and rent at both her condo and the temporary living place.  Utilizies at her condo are triple the normal amount due to the constant use of fans for drying and the mold mitigation. The original estimate for contruction was 2-3 weeks. At the end of September she can end her temporary lease and will be moving in with family.

Sandi and her friends removed the tile to try to save on costs she will be responsible for paying due to how the insurance depreciates value of things, like flooring. That's when they uncovered that toxic mold was about to be left in the living space. Sandi has the autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's, and that would have been devasting to her health.

Savings has been spent on the cost of replacing all food, cleaning, clothing and other living exspences.
Utilities have reached $500.
Temporary Housing Costs $3243
Cabinet Replacement $4325
Anticipated costs for emergency storage $1000
Flooring Depreciated Cost "upgrade" $2000

This does not take into account her existing medical expences. She has already attemped to refinance her house or get an home equity loan, but because of the inability to complete an appraisal, they will not be able to give her a loan to pay for all of this until construction is complete.

I would like to start this gofundme account for her to relieve some of the stress she continues to go through on a daily basis. If we are able to help her with the funds to get her back into her home, I feel it would be greatly appreciated and gives her a little bit of sanity and light at the end of the tunnel.
