Sandie's Multiple Sclerosis Care

Sandie Ristine,  a dear friend, colleague, sister, aunt and generally decent human being was living  & working in San Luis Obispo, CA when she relocated to her home state of Minnesota to be near her aging parents in October 2005. She worked for the Minnesota Courts System and later Mendota Heights Police Department. She was diagnosed with MS during this time and continued to work until 2012 when her condition deteriorated to the point that she could no longer function at work. She valiantly tried many experimental drugs, therapies and health modalities to stop the progression of the disease-yet it continues to advance and strip her of vibrant health and mobility.
Sandie wants to stay living independently in her home as long as possible. Her medical bills are mounting as insurance doesn't cover everything. She now needs to retrofit her home for handicap access in and out of her home, must purchase an electric wheel chair, and some occasional domestic help as well as out of pocket medical expenses.
Multiple sclerosis, a neurologic disease that attacks the nervous system. It is usually not fatal but due to its relentlessly progressive symptoms, it can be very disabling-which is what Sandie is experiencing.
My hope is that her community of friends and family-from where ever you hail, will rally around her and support her to help her fight this disease gracefully and with dignity.
With the winter season approaching rapidly (snow!), help with running errands for groceries, doctor's appointments, etc or light house keeping would also be helpful if you know her and live in her area.
Sandie and I have been friends since 1998. We worked together for a time at the Superior court, we were neighbors and we've had some fun times during it all! I so appreciate any and all of your help, prayers and support of her in her time of need.
