Project Chapel Señor San Jose in San Nicolas de Ibarra, Jalisco, Mexico
To our friends, neighbors and family:
Good day to all, we are starting a “Go Fund Me” campaign for the new Chapel in San Nicolas. For those of you familiar with this little town you already know they have the Church of San Nicolas Parish headed by Father Pedro Breceda. However, a smaller Chapel closer to the hills is needed to make it easier for senior citizens and those with mobility challenges to attend mass. It has come to my attention that this Chapel has been under construction for 15 years! Although the parish has raised money through generous donations, much is still needed to complete the project.
For example :
1. Build a strong solid wall around the perimeter to separate the Chapel from the other adjacent properties.
2. Build a wall behind the altar to protect the priest from the elements while giving Mass.
3. Repair the sidewalk to the entry of the Chapel
4. Install a proper entry door to the Chapel.
5. Upgrade the bathroom and build a ramp for wheelchair access.
6. Refurbish the Chapel pews.
7. Upgrade the alter.
These upgrades are the first of many the Chapel will need to complete it. We will be updating everyone as to the progress . We are all so excited to be able to help. God willing San Nico will get the funds that they need to complete the Chapel of Señor San Jose.
Donations of any amount will greatly help this cause that is so dear to our hearts.. Our grandmothers, grandfathers, and our parents were born in this little village. We still have many aunts, uncles and cousins that live there. The family roots run deep.
And of course, are new neIghbors in the surrounding areas are also part of our community. We are so blessed to learn about and experiance our rich culture. San Nicolas is a very friendly, positive, welcoming and festive little town. The San Nicolas Church recently celebrated 100 years.
