On April 22, 2020, the 50th anniversary of the original Earth Day, a virtual climate uprising is planned all over the world. In San Diego, local organizations are collaborating to create a full afternoon of speakers, art and music, information, and interactive actions – all online and open to everyone. The coronavirus pandemic ended our plans for a massive rally and march, but cannot silence our collective voice!
We must urgently confront three converging threats – the climate crisis, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the deepening economic recession – to create a safe and just future. We’re all in this together.
Throughout San Diego's Virtual Climate Uprising, we are organizing to raise funds for The San Diego Foundation's San Diego COVID-19 Community Response Fund, which is rapidly deploying resources to nonprofit organizations that are supporting local workers and families most affected by the coronavirus crisis. Let's raise $2,000 to help meet the urgent needs of our fellow San Diegans. Thank you for any and all continued support!
