Meet Sam. Mid twenties, loves travelling, works on boats, and doesn't mind a night out in town. Could be any one of us right?
The difference is - as some of you may know, last weekend on a night out in Airlie Beach our friend Sam didn't make it home.
After being king hit and the assailant doing a runner, Sam is currently in Townsville Hospital in a critical condition with his partner trying to recover - which is a four hour drive away from home in Cannonvale. We don't know when he's going to get out or when he's going to be able to go back to work.
So! What can we do to help Airlie Beach?
Sam's medical recovery should be the only focus of his immediate friends and family right now. What we can do is help take care of things like rent, food and fuel to make every day a little bit easier.
If 600 people donated $10 each - its that easy to bring us up to our goal! It's not much, but it will relieve a great deal of pressure for his partner as well so she can be at his side.
This is someone's son, brother and partner. No doubt many of you have had a beer with him on a night out before, and what happened to Sam last weekend could have easily been someone else. Let's get behind one of our own!
