Sam was admitted to emergency at Mercy San Juan over the weekend with a brain aneurysm that resulted in a subarachnoid hemorrhage which a life threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain. There were also some serious complications with her blood pressure and her kidneys shutting down.
Basically, we almost lost her.
The good news is that as of now they were able to get a stent in, stop the bleeding and kidneys are functioning again. Today she had her oxygen tube removed, ate some pudding and knows who she is and where she is.
She is supposed to be transferred to the ICU at UCD sometime today 1/9/2018. She will be in ICU for at least another week and after that we don't know how much therapy she will need, how much damage was caused and when she will be able to resume work.
This gofundme is being started to try and help take some of the financial burden off her and her family while she tries to focus on healing. Any amount helps and even just sharing makes a difference. Thanks to family and friends for keeping Sam and family in your thoughts and prayers.
