Staffing the Justice DTS

It is estimated that 27 million people are in slavery TODAY. This includes men, women, and children that are controlled by other people, using forms of violence, to exploit them in some way for their own economic gain. Of these, approximately 2 million CHILDREN are subjected to prostitution in the global sex industry (UNICEF).
As many of you know, I finished my Medical DTS training last December, which proved to be an amazing time or personal growth as well as an amazing opportunity to serve the hill tribes along the Thai-Burmese border.
While I was attending this school, I decided to give back to the program by staffing the next school. My school would have fallen apart without the amazing staff that volunteered their time and hard work. Every school depends on volunteers that are willing to lead the next group of students to their life-changing experience and I felt like I had to do my part as well.
This upcoming Discipleship Training School is specifically focused on justice. Our society is an unjust place and this school is designed to equip those that are passionate about bringing about God's justice to the oppressed. We will explore core issues of social injustice such as human sex trafficking, labor exploitation, child soldiers, environmental justice issues, etc.
However, Justice Reach is particularly focused on combating child sex trafficking.
I will be leading a 2-month outreach team to Japan! Japan is the largest "import" country for sex-trafficking in Asia. It is also one of the only unreached first-world nations in the world. We will be going to partner with local ministries to serve in areas of trafficking, tsunami relief, and children at risk. We will also be giving "justice-presentations" to spread awareness to the Japanese people about the injustices happening in the world today.
It is a great opportunity to finally get involved in this war against this sickening cruelty. As a Christian, we are commanded to "do justice" (Micah 6:8) and too often in my life I had neglected this commandment. As I staff this next school, I hope to also receive the training to recognize the injustices that are happening in my own society, so that I may be able to continue fighting for justice in this world.
I will be involved with this program from March 23 - August 31.
It'll be a bit tricky, because I'll be submitting my medical school applications during this period, as well.
It's obvious that I need your support--it's going to be a wild ride this season, trying to prepare for my next step (med school), while doing my best to serve those that will make up the future Justice League through this DTS. Please, please, join me in prayer.
And now for the hard part--I also need your financial support. This is pretty difficult for me to ask--especially since so many of you had faithfully supported me in my previous school--but logistics are logistics. If you feel led to continue supporting me in this journey, I will be forever grateful. I will need to raise close to $5000 to pay for living expenses the next 5 months, as well as airfare to our outreach location.
