My name is Hilwa, we live in Milton Ontario and on June 25th 2020 My husband was in an accident at work. He was in a 4 meter deep trench doing a watermain connection when 1700lbs of heavy clay caves and buried him alive. Thankfully a few co workers dug him out immediately and got him oxygen.
He suffered multiple fractures and injuries to his body. The biggest injury is in his upper spine. They diagnosed him as paraplegic but we refuse to accept that.
All of our family and friends wanted to help us along this journey as they all know that my husband is a hard worker that is the sole bread winner for our family of 6. It breaks his heart to think of our financial situation knowing there is no source coming in.
Thanks to my family they have been providing for home expenses and cost of living but Its alot and I can't even imagine what I would do without the support of everyone.
Some funding is provided through the government but a chunk is also paid out of pocket for everything and it adds up really fast.
Any donations will be going towards equipment needed for accessible living at home like a wheelchair, stairs lift, special bed and renovations and other needed items and of course medical expenses. I will be needing to get a wheelchair accessible vehicle to be able to transport him as needed to appointments.
We aim to repay every dollar offered from our friends forward to another cause once we are able to.
