Samasana 2021

Samāsana is a national intercollegiate Indian classical dance competition founded to promote cultural awareness within the Cleveland community by inviting dancers from across the country to showcase their unique sets during a memorable weekend. Samāsana aims to foster a passion for Indian classical dance as well as to promote the importance of education alongside a local Cleveland non-profit organization, EYEJ (Empowering Youth, Empowering Justice). Samasana is the first nationally recognized Indian classical dance competition in Cleveland that features unique dance styles such as Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, and Odissi.

In its first year, Samāsana hosted eight nationally recognized dance teams from across the nation who will be assessed by a judging panel comprised of experienced individuals. Samasana hopes to continue holding such events to bring together different artists and showcase their talents.

Your donation will be contributing to supporting a fascinating cultivation of the arts and Indian culture for a diverse audience, as well as supporting the surrounding community. 

Ultimately, all of our proceeds will go to EYEJ.
