SAMARITANS HERITAGE CYCLE RIDE
In May, I will be cycling 350 miles from London to York to help fund the operating costs for Samaritans of Stoke on Trent and Newcastle under Lyme. I have been a Samaritan at the Stoke Branch for just over 3 years and love being part of such a fantastic team.
Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing the number of people who die by suicide. Every year, Samaritans volunteers spend over one million hours answering calls for help via our unique 24-hour listening service, email, letter and face to face. We're here 24/7, before, during and after a crisis.
To meet the demand for our services, Stoke Branch needs to raise over £12,000 annually for its operating costs. I aim to raise over £1000 to help towards this.
I will be joined by other Samaritans from branches as far apart as Bexhill in the South and York in the North, who will be raising funds for their own branches.
