Dear Family and Friends and overall Community and “Maggiano's” Family,
On November 29, 2017 our dear friend Samantha Tran Richards was involved in a horrific accident where she was cut out of the vehicle and flight lifted to the hospital where she lays in a coma fighting for her life in ICU. She has had multiple surgeries. Among other injuries, her brain is continuing to swell and not responding to the medication to reduce the swelling. Yesterday she underwent a more serious surgery to remove part of her skull. Thank God , the surgery was a success and she is expected to be in an induced coma for at least the next 30 days.
“Sam” is genuinely a wonderful person. She is a caring mother of two beautiful girls and works hard to take care of them. She is my best friend and I can only hope and pray she knows how much we all need her in our lives. Her beauty shines in all she does and in everyone she comes in contact with. Sam has worked for Maggiano’s (her second family, home away from home) for 5 years and has enjoyed working with her regular crew #217 as much as traveling to cover other managers and opening of new locations.
We have set up this Go Fund Me page for everyone to come together and offer support for all of the expenses she will continue to endure while she’s in the hospital, then rehab and then aftercare prior to being able to return to work. She has a long road ahead of her and we need to try to keep her rent and monthly expenses up to date so she and her children have a home. Due to the severity of her injuries, we are honoring the request from her family and ask for love, prayer, and support at this time. With that being said we would like to still respect their space and privacy and have posted a pre-accident photo of “Sam”.
Please take the time to pray for her and continue praying for her full recovery and that God will give her a second chance at life and to raise her beautiful girls. Please also take the time to donate and to share this information with everyone, we really need this to go viral. We understand this is bad timing with the holidays just ahead of us but please, find it in your heart to donate. Nothing is too small, everything adds up. Perhaps if you are not able to donate maybe someone you know or a company or organization will be able to.
