Outliving my child is something we seem to expect to do. On Tuesday, Oct 4, I was reminded it was not always the case when My sister lost her only child. She was so young, only 23. Her babies are still in diapers and will never remember how amazing their Mom was. They will only have stories and pictures. Sami didn’t have the easiest life and surely not the easiest beginning. Babies only want to be loved and protected. Sami didn’t get it in her early years and had to be put into Foster care. She went through what no one should ever have to experience. My sister, Tiffany, took her in and adopted her by age 8. Early childhood trauma carries life long scars, and navigating the road of healing was arduous and never-ending. Sami always had a smile on her face and loved her kids fiercely. It is not fair to have to lose your kids. You think you have time, time to plan, time to save for life, but it doesn’t always happen that way. Then one day, you end the day knowing today was the last day my child was alive on this earth, and I heard her voice. There is nothing you can do to bring her back. My friends and loved ones, please consider helping this family bury their beloved daughter that God brought into their lives to care for and help heal from the evil in the world. Sami didn’t have life insurance, and any help you could offer would be much appreciated.
