Sam's Zip n' Dip Landing Docks Eagle Scout Project

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to my Eagle Scout Project GoFundMe page!

I have been a Scout of Troop 729 for 6 years, and my ultimate goal has been to reach the rank of Eagle Scout. This year I have worked hard to formulate a project, and now I am raising money to fund it!

My project is to construct two small docks on the receiving side of the “Zip n’ Dip” zip-lines at lake George located on the grounds of the nonprofit organization Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center. Each dock will be six feet long and two feet wide, and raised eight inches above the water, with a set of stairs.

After zippers land in the water, the docks will make the retrieval process much smoother. The receiving side of each “Zip n’ Dip” features a steep declining hill, so the docks will provide needed space for receivers to throw the retrieval rope and detach zippers from the zip-lines. The attached stairs will make it easier for zippers to exit the water. Genesee Valley has been working to improve its existing high adventure structures, and the docks will also help this effort.

I plan to complete my project by early November 2020.
