Sam's Firefly Fundraiser

About Sam:
All through elementary school Sam was bullied relentlessly by another student at his school. Even after multiple complaints to the school administration, the bullying continued well into middle school. On September 22nd, 2009, things took a tragic turn for the worst. Sam was thrown into a brick wall and thrown into lockers and walls as he tried to get away from his attacker. The brutal attack left Sam with back contusions, spasms, transverse myelitis, and decreased movement and sensation in his lower extremities. After multiple surgeries, months of rehab and years of therapy, Sam has been left a paraplegic.

Due to cost, Sam has been using a manual wheelchair. For those of you that don't know Sam and his family personally, they live in Northeastern Pennsylvania which is a mountainous area. This terrain makes it difficult for Sam to get around easily outside or go long distances without tiring. Sam's dad, Edward Brown, wants to surprise Sam with a Firefly motorized attachment for his wheelchair for his upcoming 21st birthday in May. This motorized attachment will allow Sam to travel longer distances and will remove the constant stress on his arms. This will greatly help Sam get around on his college campus as well as at his part time job.

We need your help to make Sam's birthday one to remember!
