Sam's Santiam Fire Fund

Sam Drevo and his mom, Perry, along with a family friend Tyler and little puppy "Eddy", fled Perry's house in Gates, Oregon late Monday night when a fire similtaniously sparked on Potato Hill (right in front of her house) and at the incident command center for the Opal creek fire at Gates School.  These fires combined with the 30-40 mph east wind created yet another wildfire that would grow to over 100,000 acres in less than 24 hours.  They left with the shirts on their back and a few kayaks on top of the car.

Along with so many other homes and businesses in Gates, Mill City and in the Santiam Canyon Perry's house was burnt to the ground in less that 24 hours, along with the historic home Sam owned, a van and another building on highway 22.  In the last two days the outpouring of friends offering help has been incredible.  A group of Sam's gal friends already gathered some clothes for Perry which is wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Please now, help support Sams wish to donate to the rebuilding of the Santiam canyon community.

There are many ways to support that are not monetary...expertise in building trades, heavy equipment, and/or just offering a helping hand in the effort to rebuild is welcomed!  I thank you for any help.
