<div>Sam Knopp was a victim of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus shooting. His mom, Amy, was a student at the high school which I also attended. She is the cousin of my late friend and classmate, Paul Muncy; we met at Paul's funeral after he passed far too soon.

<div>This unimaginable tragedy is and will be shattering for Amy and her family, in term of emotions, spirituality, and finances. Those closest to the family will be there for emotional and spiritual support, and everyone can provide financial support. Funeral services, travel for family members, compensation for any unpaid leave (I hope to God that isn’t necessary), and just the message that we are there for her. Make sure they can buy meals when they are too distraught to prepare their own. Buy extra gas for their transportation. Provide the financial means for any need they may have for self-care and healing.
