This Go Fund was organised by a Friend for Sydel with love.
Funds will help sydel and family remain stable during this transition time and farewell Sam in a loving celebratory simple cremation plus venue gathering with song and fun.
Significantly funds raised are being use to pay overheads ahead for our centre enabling The Home of Yoga to remain open into the future as a healing space for everyone beyond our community as well on a donational no fee basis for the yoga classes over that time. Teachers are volunteering their time.
We are grateful for your support in this time of transition and the love is being shared to all who want to share in the embrace.
To all who love Sam and share his love of yoga & life, his open heart & tireless compassion and his endless ability to listen and hold space and presence for others. Who share his love of conversation, his love of dance and celebration.
You may have heard that Sam has had a grade 4 brain haemorrhage of the brain stem a catastrophic bleed of which the damage was instantaneous and unrecoverable. An Aneurysm that had likely been sitting there for years.
His family and ripples of teachers, students, friends around him are in shock and awe with the ripples of love generated.
He spent his last 7 days held stable in a coma to give time for his family to come to terms and he left peacefully dissolving into an ocean of bliss.
Many of you have asked how you can help.
On the day this happened we had a total of $20 in our pocket having sunk everything into creating and sustaining our new Home of Yoga Healing & Welness centre with the support of the community.
There are 4 ways that we ask for help at this time or pathways we would like to direct funds donated towards:
1. We would like to celebrate Sam's Transition and cremation with a celebration for his family and community, Sam Style. With song, dance and meditation.
The funds generated so lovingly so far will enable us to do this.
The exact cost will become clear over the next days.
A cremation in perth plus celebratory service with hire of a director to ease family stress, hire of venue or chapel which we would like , will be anywhere from $3,000 in total at the lowest to $11,000 top we approximate. We will keep our expenses down as low as possiible it will not be top end yet would like to have a service to give expression for oursleves and our community, We hope this will be Friday 2nd of February.
2. We would like to ensure stability for his family in this time of transition in terms of the family home we have rented for the past 15 years. We would like a gentle transition to our new journey ahead.
Cash flow for our centre was daily and generated by the magnatism of Sam. We need time to feel into our new form.
3. Most importantly this stablity for a few months ahead can enable us to properly organise Sam's writings, photo's, our stories , experiences and journeys into a format that we hope to edit into a book.
We were in process of taking the Transformational Alignment Based Beginners course and formatting it into a manual.
Additionally sam has chapters of a book he was writing. Although this may take a while it is helpful to have some time to put everything into order for the creative process ahead.
After years of extensive caring for both my mother and supporting Sam with his injuries combined with having lived here for so long our house is a treasure trove with wonderous layers of creative clutter to sort through.
I would like to have the time to do this with ease and not be thrown into dissaray. I feel the result would be something healing for all.
4. In return for open hearted support of Sam and supporting his family to hold healing space.
We would like to continue to offer our yoga hall and centre space with two healing rooms ahead to the end of April if the flow is easy for us all. To offer our centre as a place of love and healing for all to share on a donation basis in what ever way flows from our hearts. We can be creative just come do yoga,bring friends, share food for other yogi's, share and create community, flowers to fill the space with love. This space is available for all to breathe and enjoy the wonderful teachers who will be offering classes.
Maybe a co-operative will be born out of this. There is a strong feeling of continuence it will just take some time to tell.
The overheads to hold space of the centre -plus home and office -on this practical level are about $2000 a week.
As I come out of shock and heal I have ideas and intersting suggestions and offers of hiring space, running sessions and workshops that are coming in.
I can feel a potential flow. It just needs to be easy and nurturing for us all and maybe we will find a way to create a co-operative healing space for all to share.

Maybe the months until April's end will be a healing transition time and a completion in and of itself. Sam's Sister Nikki said to me the other day that Sam always had a way of seeing the positive in what was just around the courner.
