Las más grandes han sido en estos últimos 4 años, tras la amputación de su pierna Rafael no se vio detenido y logró caminar con ayuda de una prótesis. Nos demostró a todos la fuerza y ganas de vivir su vejez con dignidad. Pese a ello, la vida ha puesto de nuevo a Rafa en jaque. Perdió la vista de su ojo izquierdo a causa de una retinopatía diabética severa, glaucoma y catarata. El ojo derecho, presenta los mismos problemas pero a una escala un poco menor. Llevamos a mi papá a revisiones y ahí pudimos costear 2 sesiones de láser en el ojo derecho en agosto de 2024, esto ayudó a frenar un poco la retinopatía severa , el glaucoma y la catarata que también presenta en ese ojo. Sin embargo día con día su visión está fallando. En el ojo izquierdo ha perdido totalmente la visión, meses atrás aún podía percibir luz, hoy en día ya no es así. El ojo derecho de está deteriorando, Mi papá necesita operarse lo más pronto posible para poder seguir siendo un hombre activo, vivir su vejez con dignidad, disfrutar de sus nietos, de su esposa y por supuesto, yo seguir teniendo a mi jefecito por más tiempo. Hemos consultado con varios especialistas, y los diagnósticos y cotizaciones siempre. Si llevan a un mismo resultado, cirugía para retirar coágulos, insertar una lente intraocular, retirar la catarata. Con esta cirugía buscamos salvar los ojos de rafael , el ojo derecho, que es el que tiene más posibilidades de recuperar la visión y el izquierdo tiene posibilidades bajas, pero no se descarta la posibilidad de recuperar lo más que se pueda. Las cirugía se puede programar únicamente con el pago por adelantado y se realizan todos los martes en la ciudad de Mérida. Por lo que además de la cirugía requerimos recursos para poder trasladarlos a Mérida, así como de los medicamentos, estudios previos y necesidades post operetorias.
