<div>Cañada de la Virgen (CDLV) ha sido una reserva natural y cultural (comunidades originarias, ganadería y cria de caballos históricos, medicina ancestral a base de plantas y sabiduría sobre la cosecha, e importantes costumbres locales de peregrinación católicas e indígenas) durante más de 26 años.

<div>Dado que más del 40% de la superficie terrestre mundial es semidesértica y alberga a un tercio de la humanidad, la labor de CDLV es más importante que nunca para mantener el delicado equilibrio de la naturaleza, revertir los efectos devastadores del cambio climático, proporcionar dignidad a las comunidades rurales y recuperar la fauna silvestre amenazada.

<div>En nuestra hogar de San Miguel de Allende, en el centro de México, y como parte de la cuenca Lerma-Chapala, nuestro trabajo de restauración de ecosistemas regenerativos en conjunto con los ranchos, ejidos y pueblos vecinos está recargando los acuíferos, restaurando los bosques de encinos nativos y los humedales del desierto, estableciendo los corredores biológicos para apoyar la fauna local y las aves migratorias, y haciendo posible el regreso del puma mexicano después de 50 años de ausencia.

<div>The Cañada de la Virgen Foundation (FCDLV) supports the pioneering work of the Nature Reserve Cañada de la Virgen (CDLV) in restoring vibrant semi-desert ecosystems so that they become naturally powerful carbon sinks that can support endemic wildlife and viable circular economic systems for healthy communities.

<div>Cañada de la Virgen (CDLV) has been a natural and cultural reserve (indigenous communities, livestock and historic horse breeding, ancestral plant-based medicine and harvest wisdom, and important local Catholic and indigenous pilgrimage customs) for more than 26 years.

<div>Given that more than 40% of the global landmass is semi-desert and is home to one-third of humanity, CDLV’s work is more critical than ever in maintaining the delicate balance of nature, reversing the devastating effects of climate change, providing dignity for rural communities and bringing back threatened wildlife.

<div>In our home in San Miguel de Allende in central Mexico, and as part of the Lerma-Chapala watershed, our work to restore regenerative ecosystems in conjunction with ranches, ejidos, and neighboring towns is recharging aquifers, restoring native oak forests and desert wetlands, establishing biological corridors to support local wildlife and migratory birds and making possible the Mexican Puma's return after 50 years of absence.
