My name is Colleen and I am fundraising to help build a ”Sea Farm” operated by, and for, women in recovery where we will grow kelp, oysters, and mussels.
Three years ago my life took an unbelievable turn when I made the decision to stop using substances to cope with life‘s challenges. It was largely through the love and support of women in recovery that I was able to regain my self-esteem, self worth, hope, happiness, and trust in others. These women helped
save my life. It is now my turn to pay them back by paying it forward and helping other women in recovery.
I have worked on the water for many years growing kelp, mussels, oysters, and lobstering. I believe that getting your hands dirty and engaging with nature is a wonderful way to heal. Planting something, caring for it, and watching it grow builds confidence and strength. These are two things that women new to recovery often struggle with.
Recovery is a hard road, but as women together “Sisters “ we can help change each other’s lives. We can find hope and purpose where we once thought all was lost, and a way out of the murky waters.
My hope is to give women the opportunity to build something greater than themselves, to work alongside other sober women in a safe environment, and to help confidently reestablish themselves in a healthy workplace.
If you believe in recovery and helping women, alongside an amazing way to help restore our coast lines and oceans through “Sea Farming” Then please Share, donate, and help spread the word. Your help is greatly appreciated... Because we are worth way more than our salt!!!
