<div>Hi, my name is Chelsea and I am the loving owner of the most amazing 5 year old French Bulldog named Sally. Sally has been with me since she was 9 weeks old, and is generally a very healthy pup with zero pre-existing medical conditions.

<div>I have recently found myself stuck in the most unimaginable situation – last night Sally began showing signs of respiratory distress. I rushed her to the closest emergency clinic at 2:00am where she had to be intubated. Sally was immediately admitted to the emergency clinic where she spent the night having her vitals monitored and stabilized. Through testing and examinations during her overnight stay, the vet discovered that Sally has a moderate sized “thickening”/mass located in the laryngeal fold, along with inflammation and swelling contributing her respiratory symptoms. The cause of the “thickening”/mass is being investigated.

<div>Sally is stable at the moment with sedation and intubation, however she will require ICU monitoring, possible surgical intervention, and other undetermined treatment. I have been in contact with a board certified surgeon, Dr. Porter out of the Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic, who has graciously accepted Sally’s case. We have arranged for Sally to be medically transported from her current clinic to the TVEH where she will be admitted to the ICU and assessed by the surgeon for further treatment.

<div>I have always maintained pet insurance for Sally, however unfortunately my policy has a maximum of $4000 per illness and we are already well beyond the maximum with just getting her stabilized, excluding surgery/any further treatment. My invoice from the emergency clinic where I initially brought Sally to be examined, admitted, and stabilized, totaled $5813.76 (images attached).
