As many know, Salem just rung the bell last month completing chemo/surgery to remove the last tumor left over beside his heart. On 7/16, we woke him up for speech therapy; he vomited and couldn’t stay awake. I picked him up, and he had a bluish tint. He was admitted into the ER with oxygen in the low 90s; this quickly dropped to the 40s, and his body went completely blue. He began to have multiple seizures, going blue with every one. Salem was life-flighted to Children’s, where he received scans for hours while we drove to him. The scans read there are now three tumors that have grown in his brain. This all happened so fast; within one month, they rapidly appeared from his previously clear scans. They plan to do surgery to remove the biggest tumor, which is somewhere between the size of a walnut and a lime, on 7/17. Then he will start a different type of chemo. They also plan to collect his white blood cells for an autotransplantation at the end of treatment.

This being said, Bradley will have to be out of work again for a couple of months to be here/home with our other two children while I am here with Salem. We still have to keep paying Blue Cross Blue Shield to keep his insurance going, so anything would be helpful at this time! Thank you, everyone, for being here for us during Salem’s journey. We are so beyond grateful for everyone that has shown up for us. Please continue to pray for Salem. This is going to be a hard new journey in our life, but God is absolutely with us!
