My Study Abroad: Sevilla, Spain

Hello!

My name is Sakari Singleton and I attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have officially been selected to study abroad this summer in Sevilla, Spain. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity, however, I need your support to get there. Studying abroad will allow me to grow both personally and academically. I’m extremely serious about working in global development and improving the living environments in developing countries. Spain will provide me with an opportunity to increase my fluency in Spanish as I journey towards this career path.

I know that I can depend on my family and friends to support me along this journey. A contribution of any kind is truly appreciated. Please share this with your family, friends and network so that I can reach my goal. 


It has always been my desire to travel the world and experience other people, places, and cultures. With an academic focus on global studies and language, I intend to enhance my worldly thinking and cultural experience by studying abroad. I chose to study in Sevilla, Spain for a variety of reasons.  Through this program, I will increase my fluency in the Spanish language and expand my global experience. Since beginning college, it has been my academic goal to broaden my perspective beyond the microcosmic environment that I inhabit. I will be enrolled at the local University taking on courses based on Spanish history, contemporary culture, and society as well as a language course.

 I believe my experience with this program will make me a stronger student in future Hispanic studies courses, global studies courses, as well as other future pursuits.

Any help or donation that the public can give is highly appreciated, as a college student it is impossible to fund this experience alone.
