<div>Een werkweek van 78 uur. Met elf mensen slapen in vier kleine slaapkamers. Je paspoort inleveren. Nooit het beloofde werkvisum krijgen. Dreigende berichten van je werkgever ontvangen als: "Geen excuses als ik heb rechten" en "Als wij de komende twee maanden klachten krijgen over schoonmaak, krijgt helemaal niemand de hele maand betaald."

<div>Dit is de werkelijkheid voor de <strong>Filipijnse en Indonesische schoonmakers </strong>die voor de luxe sportschool <strong>Saints &amp; Stars </strong>werkten, zoals aan het licht is gekomen in het op 25 juli verschenen artikel in het Parool. Onder <strong>onmenselijke omstandigheden</strong> hebben zij keihard gewerkt, ver van huis, met één doel: geld verdienen voor hun families. Nu zitten ze zonder werk, zonder inkomen, en zonder visum.

<div>[Update proces van uitbetaling] De schoonmakers hebben geen EU bankrekening, waardoor het fonds niet direct naar hun bankrekeningen kan worden uitbetaald vanuit Gofundme. Om op de meest directe en efficiënte manier het geld bij de werkers terecht te laten komen, wordt

<div>het bedrag eerst gestort naar de bankrekening van Rébecca, omdat dit een Nederlandse bankrekening is, en zal dan direct worden overgemaakt via wise.com naar de (Filipijnse) bankrekening van één van de werkers, waarna vervolgens de schoonmakers het onderling zelf verdelen en gebruiken voor gezamenlijke kosten.

Receiving threatening messages from your employer such as: "No excuses like I have rights" and "If we get any complaints about cleaning over the next two months, no one will be paid at all for the entire month."

<div>This is the reality for the <strong>Filipino and Indonesian cleaners</strong> who worked for the luxury gym <strong>Saints &amp; Stars</strong>. They laboured under inhumane conditions, far from home, with one goal: to earn money for their families. Now, they are left with no job, no income, and no visa.

<div>[Update on payout process] The cleaners do not have EU bank accounts, which means the fund cannot be paid out directly to their bank accounts from GoFundMe. To get the money to the workers in the most direct and efficient way, the amount will first be deposited into Rébecca's bank account, as this is a Dutch bank account, and will then be transferred directly via wise.com to the (Filipino) bank account of one of the workers, after which the cleaners will distribute it amongst themselves and use it for shared expenses.
