Upon returning to the United States. I could not get Said and his dream out of my head and I felt compelled to do something for him. So I wrote a letter and mailed it to that tiny little village in the middle of far away Kenya with a proposition: If Said truly wanted to go to college I would pay for him to do so...
On July 7th, 2017 Said walked across the stage at Mount Kenya University with a degree in education, and I couldn't have been more proud of him.
It is now April, 2018 and Said has been admitted to Kenyatta University in Nairobi to further his education with a Master of Arts, in Religious Studies.
The tuition for the two year program is 625,00 Kenyan Shillings, or roughly $6,100 USD.
I feel like my obligation to Said and to Africa as a whole will not be complete until Said fulfills his dream....until he is out in the world, doing good for others.
It would be be an honor to do so, and it would mean the world to me if you could help in any way, big or small, to make this dream become real.
