Safety and Success for our Students

School is not just about learning anymore.  It is about keeping our students safe, supporting their social and emotional well-being and learning.  The students at Phineas Bates Elementary School are at risk of losing a teacher who supports their complete development and provides the support that many students need to be able to learn and achieve.  Our students are not receiving the district support they deserve - they cut the funding for Mr. Prisby and there are no signs of additional help. It is up to us to raise money to keep this position. Will you help us?  Ensuring our kids go to school in a place where they feel supported helps them be successful.

Despite that fact that the school has reallocated instructional funds towards this position, we still need to raise $30,000 to keep Mr. Prisby.  If each student at the school were able to raise $100, we would be more than 90% of the way to reaching our goal.  Sponsor a student today and donate $100.  Any amount helps!

In the wake of unspeakable tragedies that have happened at schools across our country, social-emotional well-being is imperative to ensure the mental health of this future generation.  A teacher with expertise to help students work through divorce, homelessness, fights with families and friends, and daily struggles is necessary to keep our students safe and make learning possible.  Mr. Prisby teaches our kids how to understand feelings, creating tools they will use their entire lifetime and be able to learn from each other and close the achievement gap, which Bates has been recognized for.  What we have been able to accomplish with Mr. Prisby could be a model for other schools.  Yet it is a certainty that without Mr. Prisby, the continued success of the very initiatives we’ve been recognized for will be in jeopardy and even more importantly, our students will suffer.

Thank you in advance for your support!
