Critical care for children and widows of war

Donation protected
All it takes is $5 to help - We invite you to share your blessings with the displaced people of Gaza in Egypt this Easter /Ramadan /Passover to help members of the Safebow Collective provide:

$25/£E800: Urgent medical needs & services
$50/£E1,600: New arrival support (clothes & hot meal)
$75/£E2,400: Starter home-essentials for family of 4+
$100/£E3,200: Groceries for 10-20 days for family of 4+
$500/£E16,000: Rent for 5-months for family of 4+
$1000/£E32,000: Rent for 10-months for family of 4+

100% of every $ donated will contribute to meeting these critical needs of Gazans evacuating to Cairo because we are a small grassroots collective of individual volunteers from around the world, raising funds in our communities and bringing the funds to Egypt at our own expense, with no extras like salaries, admin or building costs to cover. We visit families in-person, record their situation and identification, assess their needs together and give them funds and/or assistance directly.

While global powers argue over semantics, time is running out, so we feel it is up to us to stand together for humanity.

I am a Canadian-Australian PhD candidate spending Ramadan in Cairo to support some of the most vulnerable people who have evacuated from Gaza City to Khan Younis, then to Rafah and now to Cairo. The evacuees include widows, women in their last stage of pregnancy, elderly women, infants and children. We looked for big-well-funded organisations to do this volunteer with and couldn't find any, so we are doing our best to fill this gigantic gap in humanitarian aid.

I am so proud of our small network of volunteers who have helped deliver aid to over 7,000 people with about $350,000 USD in direct cash aid and other resources in Gaza, and more recently, we have assisted almost 200 individuals with evacuation to Cairo. However, we do not have the sustainable human or financial capital required to support the more than 30,000 Gazans in Egypt, so we endeavour to care for about 2-300 families

Extensive medical care has long been limited in Gaza and it is now nonexistent so there are Gazans in Cairo who came just prior to 10.07.23 for a few days of treatment and got stuck with nothing more than a change of clothes and their medical records. Another group of Gazawi stuck in Cairo are those who spent their life savings [or borrowed as much as they could] to purchase temporary visas to join family members in Canada and Australia, which also required buying international plane tickets, crossing the border into Egypt and travelling to the Cairo airport only to discover their visas were cancelled at the last minute with no refunds offered. The third group of Gazans in Cairo have also spent their life savings to pay for the border crossing and travel into Cairo with little more than the clothes they are wearing. All Gazans, regardless of what resources they had previously, are struggling to meet their basic life essentials in Cairo, like food, water, basic furnished housing, trauma support and medical services.

There are also children in the midst of chemotherapy treatment, organ transplants, or other critical operations/therapies who need to pay additional fees because of course they do not have travel or medical insurance. Also, many air raid victims have lost their eyeglasses or hearing aids and now also require prosthetics and/or mobility aids.

We are also looking for donations of time and resources, in addition to cash aid, to help us deliver essential care & support on the ground in Cairo. Please fill out this form here: https://forms.gle/RBD1DbiWGeqbg9cx6 if you can help with temporary accommodation, delivering aid or providing low-cost/pro-bono medical, counselling or legal services. In addition to these urgent necessities, we will also be looking to help connect evacuees to apply for jobs elsewhere, set up businesses or work remotely and finish their education and vocational training to achieve some semblance of self-sustainability.

We would like to extend much love and deep gratitude for reading & sharing this appeal, as well as, for any part you are able to play in helping. We cannot save everyone, however we are working hard to do whatever we can to make a big difference in a small way for those we can help.
