PDX Trans Woman seeking help after sexual assault

From the beneficior:
”I’m a mentally ill white trans woman married to a black immunocompromised woman. We are living below the poverty line in Portland struggling to receive any government assistance. I was laid off from my job and haven't received any unemployment, and I’be also never received a stimulus check from the government. Lately I am limited to transportation on foot, rideshare apps like lyft and uber which I can't afford, and public transportation which exposes me to covid-19 and puts my wife in danger.
Recently I was sexually assaulted by a complete stranger who attempted to rob me in broad daylight. Not a single person stepped in to help me. I'm left traumatized, demoralized, and terrified to go back outside, much less set foot on public transit again.
Getting access to a reliable vehicle will not only give me and my disabled wife autonomy of movement, but it will also protect us from exposure to a virus that would be life threatening for her. Having a car will also give me avenues to make money with services like food delivery and TaskRabbit, which I otherwise would not be able to accomplish.
Any amount of funds will go directly to acquiring a car, getting proper registration, repairs, and any other fees required to drive legally. Please help two marginalized LGBTQ people stay safe during this pandemic!”
