I am trying to raise funds to purchase a vehicle for myself and my 3 young girls. As most of you know, I tragically lost my partner, and my kids their dad- only 2 days after my third child was born. I've been working so hard through Family Recovery Court to gain custody back of my kids, and have been successful in doing that with my oldest and youngest. My 2 year old, Kaiya, is still out of home. This is unfortunate because the main reason is because I do not have transportation, her daycare is located in Snohomish, and daycares local to me have wait lists (which I have placed her on). I know if I were to bring her home, as badly as I want to, I would be unable to get her to her current daycare- which means I would end up not being able to keep up with my obligations in Family Recovery Court. Currently I take public transportation back and forth to my treatment services which consists of Relapse Awareness classes, randomized drug testing, weekly sobriety meetings, and weekly Court hearings at the Snohomish County Superior Courthouse. In addition to this- I take my children to their medical appointments, mental health appointments (as well as my own), and extracurricular activities all on the Everett Transit bus system. To say doing this with an infant has been exhausting is an understatement, but I will do everyrhing in my power to make sure my children don't lose a 2nd parent. I'm not trying to get anything more than something reliable and safe to transport my children, so I may have the opportunity to bring Kaiya home sooner rather than later.
