On Sunday, August 16, 2026, Hurricane Lala caused devastating damage to our home. A large koa tree was uprooted outside our fence and fell onto the house, cracking the walls, breaking our roof, and leaving it no longer habitable. My husband and I are an elderly couple, and we are now trying to find a safe place to stay while also caring for our four dogs. 
 
 
 Everything has felt chaotic since we lost our home. I have been unable to return to work, and my husband, who is in his late 70s, is also battling health issues. We are doing our best to hold on and trust God for a miracle, but right now we urgently need a safe and stable place to live. 
 
 
 The immediate costs are more than we can manage on our own. A 10-day stay at a nearby hotel will cost over $5,000, and we are also trying to secure a new rental home as quickly as possible. Donations will help us cover temporary lodging and give us a chance to move into a safe place where we can begin to rebuild some normalcy.
