<div>Doctors have told us he will never fully bend his arm again. As a mother, hearing those words is devastating. He is only 15 years old. He should be thinking about school, friends, and his future not permanent injury.

<div>He is the oldest of my seven children. I had him when I was his age. People used to call him “Book Bag” because I carried him in a book bag while I fought to finish high school and earn my diploma. We grew up together. We have always survived together.

<div>Before this happened, we were already struggling and did not have a place of our own. We were staying with family sleeping in the living room. Now, with this trauma and his recovery ahead, it is clear we need stable, safe housing.

<div>My son dreams of becoming a doctor one day. Even now, he talks about helping others. But he cannot heal properly without peace, safety, and stability.

<div>Our goal is to secure at least get one full year of housing/ relocation so my son can focus on healing without fear of instability, and my other children can also heal without the fear of this happening to them one day.
