Il pesante suono dei bombardamenti si è finalmente calmato, ma il silenzio che hanno lasciato è ancora più profondo. La guerra può essersi "fermata", ma per noi la devastazione durerà anni, forse decenni.

<div>In mezzo a questa realtà grigia, è avvenuto un miracolo. È nata la mia terza figlia, <strong>Liana</strong>, che ora ha due mesi.
</div>
<div>Guardare i suoi occhi innocenti è un sentimento agrodolce. È nata in un mondo di macerie, dove i suoi primi respiri sono stati pieni della polvere delle case distrutte, invece del profumo di una culla accogliente. Mentre dovrebbe dormire in un letto caldo, è protetta solo da una tenda, circondata dai resti della vita che conoscevamo un tempo.

<div>La nostra casa è ancora un cumulo di ricordi. Mio marito è senza lavoro, poiché l’economia è in rovina. Viviamo nel "dopo" – una fase in cui il mondo potrebbe distogliere lo sguardo perché le bombe non cadono più, ma dove noi lottiamo ancora ogni giorno per l’acqua pulita, le medicine di base e un tetto sicuro per Talia (7 anni), Diana (5 anni) e la piccola Liana.

<div>Talia e Diana chiedono ancora quando potranno tornare a scuola. Chiedono perché i loro giochi siano sepolti sotto il cemento. Hanno visto nei loro pochi anni più di quanto un bambino dovrebbe vedere in un’intera vita.

<div>Riprendersi da questa tragedia è una montagna che non possiamo scalare da soli. Non vi chiediamo solo un "aiuto", vi chiediamo un ancora di salvezza.

While she should be sleeping in a warm crib, she is cradled in a tent, surrounded by the remnants of the life we once knew.

<div>Our home is still a memory. My husband remains without work, as the economy lies in ruins. We are living in the aftermath—a stage where the world might look away because the bombs have stopped, but where we still struggle to find clean water, basic medicine, and a stable roof for Talia (7), Diana (5), and little Liana.

<div>Talia and Diana still ask when they can go back to school. They ask why their toys are buried under concrete. They have seen more in their few years than any child should in a lifetime.
