Saddleworth 3 peaks challenge

Hello,

 

I'm Tassia!

 

I will be looking to complete the crazy challenge of conquering the Saddleworth 3 peaks walk for the breast cancer group - After Breast Cancer Diagnosis (ABCD), in memory of my amazing friend Leila, who unfortunately died from the brutal disease that is secondary breast cancer.

 

I hope to raise a total of £310 to reflect the 31 people who die everyday from secondary breast cancer (SBC) everyday in the UK.

Unfortunately I suffer from SBC myself and as a result my mobility has been ridiculously limited and I have been a shadow of my former, much fitter self. After attending the ABCD retreat last year and conquering one of the Saddleworth peaks, I realised what I could physically do after my diagnosis, just less than one year after being bed bound for 6 months. I was in awe after meeting Leila on this retreat, despite sharing the same condition, she was a marathon runner and did not let cancer define her.

 

Everyday I am inspired by her drive and the loving generosity of spirit within the cancer community. I'd like to give a special shout out to Ruth, as I would not be able to take part in this challenge without her support.

 

I will be doing it, even if I have to crawl and it takes me 24hours for me, Ruth and Leila.
