Sachi Thanawala Tragedy Fund

Sachi Thanawala-Patel was taken from this world tragically and unexpectedly after being struck by a car in a crosswalk, just a block from her home, during her morning walk to work in Belmont, MA.
Over the ensuing hours and days she fought incredibly, showing us the amazing strength of her spirit, but ultimately succumbed to the grave injuries from which no one could survive, on August 30th, 2018.
Not only an inspiration during life, in the end Sachi tangibly helped to save lives through her untimely passing by donating her organs, which were immediately put to use, in a final act of the compassion for which she was well known.
A young, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, no other words could better describe Sachi than this statement from her family:
"Those who knew Sachi even a little would know that she is the best humanity had to offer. Her absence in our lives will leave a hole that can never be filled, but she leaves us with the amazing memories we can cherish forever."
About this fund:
We are close friends of Aakash, surviving husband of Sachi, and father of their two beautiful young boys (4 and 8 years old). It's impossible to comprehend the grief that he and his family are experiencing as they process this tragedy. While it's a frustrating and helpless feeling knowing there is little we can do to alleviate some of the emotional pain, we can provide tangible support in other ways.
Aakash is one of the most humble and hardworking people we know, and is someone who does not easily accept help. But he is going to need our help. With this fund, we are looking to provide some financial support to help offset some of the upcoming costs associated with the funeral and all things related to when a working mother of young children is unexpectedly taken away from her family, in which she truly was the bedrock.
