El Sacerdote Mauricio Galaz Pérez nació el 20 de mayo de 1985 en Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua. Desafortunadamente el 4 de diciembre de 2017 falleció en el Centro Médico de Especialidades de Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua a la edad de 32 años después de una batalla intensa en contra de una páncreatitis.
La familia Galaz Pérez se quedó con la cuenta del hospital de 860,000 pesos mexicanos (~45,000 dólares) más los gastos funerarios. Humildemente les pedimos su ayuda para pagar esta deuda.
Hijo de Héctor Mario Galaz Lugo y Amalia Pérez Martinez y sus hermanos Héctor Mario y Rosa Isela, Mauricio era el segundo de tres hijos.
El Padre Mauricio fue bautizado el 21 de septiembre de 1985 en la Parroquia Cristo Redentor por Monseñor Arturo Valenzuela.
Mauricio junto con su familia, partieron a Mesa, Arizona, donde hizo sus estudios básicos y donde sintió la vocación al sacerdocio ministerio en la Diócesis de Nuevo Casas Grandes. Sus estudios de Teología los realizó en Chihuahua y en Roma.
Fue ordenado Diácono el 5 de Julio de 2012 y ordenado sacerdote el 27 de mayo de 2013 de manos del Señor Obispo Don Jesús José Herrera Quiñónez. Su ministerio lo ejerció en las parroquias de Ascensión, Maria Madre, San Antonio de Padua, Catedral y últimamente en Santo Niño de Atocha (Ejido Hidalgo y sus comunidades). Fue sacerdote asesor de las Voluntarias Vicentinas y del grupo EcyD. También coordinaba la comisión litúrgica de la Diócesis.

Priest Mauricio Galaz Pérez was born on May 20, 1985 in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua. Unfortunately, on December 4, 2017, he died at the Medical Center of Specialties of Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua at the age of 32 after an intense battle with pancreatitis.

Son of Héctor Mario Galaz Lugo and Amalia Pérez Martinez and his siblings Héctor Mario and Rosa Isela, Mauricio was the second of three children.
Father Mauricio was baptized on September 21, 1985 in the Cristo Redentor Parish by Monsignor Arturo Valenzuela.
Mauricio, together with his family, left for Mesa, Arizona, where he did his basic studies and where he felt the vocation to the priesthood ministry in the Diocese of Nuevo Casas Grandes. He studied theology in Chihuahua and Rome.
He was ordained Deacon on July 5, 2012 and ordained a priest on May 27, 2013 at the hands of the Lord Bishop Jesus José Herrera Quiñónez. His ministry was held in the parishes of Ascension, Maria Madre, San Antonio de Padua, Cathedral and lately in Santo Niño de Atocha (Ejido Hidalgo and their communities). He was a priest advisor to the Vincentian Volunteers and the EcyD group. He also coordinated the liturgical commission of the Diocese.
